BASF Australia & New Zealand Privacy Requirement
We collect personal information from our business partners on a voluntary basis which may include name, title, company, address, phone number, email address, and other relevant data.
Use of the information provided
We use the information that business partners provide for purposes such as
- processing and responding to requests,
- improving our operations
- communicating with business partners about our products, services and businesses.
Subsidiaries and external service providers participate in some of these activities, but we do not sell or rent personal information to unrelated businesses for direct marketing purposes.
As our business evolves, we may transfer or acquire businesses and related assets, and we may transfer information about business partners in connection with such transactions. We take commercially reasonable precautions to keep all information obtained from our business partners secure against unauthorised access and use and we periodically review our security measures.
Non-disclosure to third parties
Any personal or business information which you supply to us will only be used internally and will not be divulged to a third party unless that third party is integral to the purpose for which you gave us the information (eg, delivery companies will be supplied with delivery information) or where required by law.
We will only use and disclose information about you for the purpose for which you gave us that information.
We may use and disclose information about you for a purpose other than the purpose for which you gave us the information where:
- You would reasonably expect us to use or disclose the personal information for that other purpose;
- That other purpose is related to the purpose for which you gave us the information;
- You have given us your consent for the personal information to be used or disclosed for the additional
- There are reasonable grounds to believe that use or disclosure is necessary to prevent a threat to life or health;
- We suspect that unlawful activity is or has been engaged in and we use or disclose the personal information to investigate the suspected unlawful activity; or
- The use or disclosure is authorised by law or reasonably necessary to enforce the law.
Accuracy of the information
We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that all information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up-to- date. Please contact us if your details change or if you believe the information we have about you is not accurate or complete.
Access to your information
We will provide you with reasonable opportunity to access your personal information and have it corrected or updated. A fee may apply to such access. Exceptions to your access rights include:
- Where providing access will pose a serious threat to the life or health of any individual or pose an unreasonable impact on the privacy of an individual;
- Your request for access is frivolous or vexatious;
- Where the information relates to existing legal proceedings between BASF in Australia and New Zealand and you and the information would not be discoverable in the process of those legal proceedings; or
- Where providing access would be unlawful, may prejudice an investigation of possible unlawful activity, may prejudice enforcement of laws, or denying access is specifically authorised by
Visiting the BASF Website
Our web server may also automatically collect information which is non-personally- identifiable such as the domain name of the site providing a visitor with Internet access, but not the visitor's user name. Other examples of information collected by our server include the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect the visitor's computer to the Internet, the visitor's browser type and version, operating system and platform, the average time spent on our site, pages viewed, information searched for, access times and other relevant statistics.
We use this information in the aggregate to measure the use of our site and to administer and improve our site.
Use of cookies
We also use cookies to distinguish repeat business partners from first time business partners and provide business partners a personalized experience on our site. Cookies are pieces of information that a web site transfers to the hard drive of a visitor's computer for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies to allow business partners to use the site without logging on upon returning, to make improvements and to better tailor our site to our business partners' needs. We also use this information to verify that business partners meet the criteria required to process their requests.
Business partners who complete a registration form may decline to accept the cookie which allows the site to recognize them as registered users upon their return, but declining this cookie does not affect a separate cookie which distinguishes repeat from first time business partners.
Our site contains links to other web sites. These sites are not covered by this privacy statement, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these other sites.
Google Ads campaign analytics
We work with the search engine operator Google LLC, Mountain View, California, USA, so that customers can find our websites and offers more easily using search engines. As a result, our website and products are particularly highlighted or displayed in the Google search if you enter certain key words in the Google search.
The links shown in the search results that lead to our pages are enriched with parameters. This enables us to evaluate the success rate of the campaign using Google search. This method processes the following information when the link is clicked:
- Information to identify which campaign was the origin of the click:
- medium (at_medium)
- campaign ID (at_campaign)
- platform (at_platform )
- ad format (at_creation)
- ad variant (at_variant)
- search term (at_term)
The link is evaluated by the range measurement and analytics tool AT Internet, about which you can find more information in the section on cookies. No cookies are set as part of this analysis. The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.
